stole mandy’s idea, my top 25 artists for the year. i’m not making a top albums list though because i don’t even think i liked that many records this year, welp.
Descendents - Jean is Dead
I’ve been listening to this band all day, so even though I don’t have any super exciting memories concerning them it would feel wrong to post anything else. Lately they’ve been mostly reminding me of being in Columbus with James and Jose when they got their tattoos, and walking back to Jose’s house eating lukewarm french fries out of a greasy paper bag. I learned a lot about myself that week, especially with how I relate to music and “the scene” and how much being from NJ has to do it. It was pretty cool going to shows in Columbus, experiencing new and old at the same time. I’m saying the obvious here but traveling really is great for the mind, even when you don’t really go that far.
Taking a Greyhound bus about 15 hours each way was also an experience. I suggest everyone try it, it builds character.
bus rides are no fun when you’re by yourself though, tawny
